Do you want to play your part in maintaining and developing award-winning quality wines. We are working with one of England’s leading wine producers, recruiting a Quality Control Technician, who will be instrumental in continuing to develop their quality control process from juice to final pack.

You’ll be responsible for delivering the sample plan for their wines and work closely with the winemaking team to ensure the delivery of high-quality results essential for informed decision making in relation to their wines.

About You:

We are seeking a proactive, organised and driven individual with an excellent understanding of quality control testing within a production environment. With strong analytical skills you will be able to test and provide precise data to the winemaking team. With a strong desire to do the right thing you will help them continue to uphold the highest standards in terms of quality and food safety.

Quality Control Technician Key Responsibilities:

– Ownership of the quality control sample plan and the testing required to meet this plan
– Report all quality control data and trends as required by the wine making and production teams
– Collaborate with the wine making team to ensure timely completion of quality control testing
– Oversee the day to day operation of the laboratory and testing regime
– Maintain quality control and food safety records to ensure traceability of product
– Drive standard of testing to ensure calibration of equipment and the development of testing techniques
– Conduct thorough investigations to identify root causes of quality control non-compliance or deviations in food safety standards
– Part of the recall team
– Responsible for COSHH and risk assessments relevant with the role

Additional experience to support your role as Quality Control Technician:

– Experience of quality control within a beverage or food production environment, ideally wine based but not essential
– Worked within a quality control/laboratory environment, worked to a testing protocol and used basic testing equipment and techniques
– Familiar with working to a Food Safety/Quality Standard
– Ability to use a variety of quality control-related software packages
– IT literate with strong Excel skills
– HACCP knowledge to minimum level 2
– Oenological knowledge
– Able to act on own initiative, be proactive and work as part of a team
– Be able to communicate results and discuss openly ways to improve ways of working
– Able to work under pressure and maintain a flexible approach
