Shift Supervisors – Aerospace

Due to business growth, Shift Supervisors are required for the headquarters site of an aerospace manufacturing company based in Consett, County Durham. 12 hour shifts days and nights – see below.

The company, which has CNC machining, fabrication and treatment facilities, making large components for aircraft, has recently enjoyed large investment and now has an increasing turnover and an expanding workforce.

Candidates need good relevant qualifications and experience of motivating teams, implementing process improvements, gained from precision engineering manufacturing e.g. automotive, aerospace.

Reporting to a Shift Manager, the Shift Supervisor will lead a team of operators, ensuring continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes, associated systems and procedures measured on quality, health & safety, efficiency and volume targets.

You will work with the Manufacturing and Engineering functions to meet and improve production targets, particularly plant output, plant operations, product quality, product costs and department expenditure.

The key goals for the roles are

–  Develop your team in continuous improvement thinking

–  Make improvements to current practices and processes

–  Liaise with engineering on Plant quality, trouble shooting, maintenance, and improvements

–  Daily housekeeping walk through and corrective measures activated

–  Internal area focus on Safety, productivity and quality via good teamwork.

Skills and Experience Required

–  Supervisory qualifications

–  Six Sigma lean manufacturing experience

–  Able to manage and motivate the team

–  Be self-motivated and confident when taking responsibility for all areas of work

–  Proven track record of achievement within a manufacturing environment, preferably with precision engineering / machining capability.
