Exciting opportunity for a Project Manager with commercial project delivery experience to join MKC Training, embedded within the world famous Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME) in Chatham, Kent. Delivering a wide range of projects for this developing, growing training provider.
The role will be responsible for delivering commercial projects to customers of MKC Training.
MKC Training Services Ltd (MKC Training) is a wholly owned subsidiary of MidKent College, established in 2008 as part of an innovative public, private partnership with the Ministry of Defence. MKC Training is an outstanding expert in the design and delivery of innovative teaching, learning, assessment and training design. Supporting employers, training providers and awarding organisations to provide a stimulating environment to help individuals and organisations achieve their goals.
Over the last 10 years MKC Training has developed a deep subject specialism and knowledge across construction, engineering and the associated professional skills. This specialist expertise, experience and capability has been underpinned by their work with the RSME. Working as part of the Holdfast Training Services (HTS) consortium in a 30 year Public Private Partnership (PPP) designing, managing, delivering and assessing a wide range of high quality artisan, technical and professional training for military engineers.

The HTS contract provides a significant foundation for MKC Training, not only in terms of financial stability, but also the ability to develop and grow new training techniques, methodology and technologies.
You will be an experienced project manager with a strong partnership ethos. The role will provide you the enviable opportunity to join a 30 year partnership, collaborating with industry and military partners. The Project Manager will lead the delivery of projects. Working with stakeholders from across the business you will be engaged in all parts of the project lifecycle, working with the business winning team to develop solutions for bids, through to delivering customer projects and internal improvement change projects. This role will be responsible for delivering commercial projects to customers of MKC Training, experience in delivery of commercial projects is essential.
What will I be doing?
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of positive engagement with project customers, partners and suppliers
- Responsible for the delivery of the project outputs, to an agreed baseline (customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash and sales)
- Ensure project members operate in line with the operating procedures of MKC Training
- Operating in a safe and secure manner
- Embed a culture in line with the MKC Training values into the delivery of your projects
What do I need?
- Degree level qualification
- Project Manager qualification e.g. Prince 2 or APM
- Drive and determination to achieve successful project delivery
- Proactive and dynamic professional attitude to internal and external customers
- Substantial experience in a Project Management role delivering multiple projects
