Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers (electrically biased) required in Leeds!

Our client is a very successful supplier of special alloy components, supplying OEM’s in the Aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine sectors, with 70 years of industry leading experience.

Their development pipeline is maintained through dedicated planning, reviews and investment in employee training. We now have an opportunity for a Graduate to join their Manufacturing Engineering Team.

Annual Salary – c£40,000+

ABOUT THE ROLE

When you join the team, you will carry out frontline maintenance tasks based upon agreed priority’s while being proactive towards daily plant issues, ensuring machine safety standards are kept to the highest level.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out frontline electrical/mechanical maintenance tasks based upon agreed priority’s while being proactive towards daily plant issues.
  • Perform scheduled electrical maintenance tasks on plant and machinery (Adhere to PPM / TPM Schedules)
  • Installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Identify process deficiencies and develop solutions to improve those deficiencies
  • Effective handover to the next shift engineer
  • Willing to work within a team, be a keen team player. Reporting directly to maintenance supervisor and maintenance manager

Checking the function, condition and serviceability of machinery and equipment to a predetermined schedule. You will carry out these checks for Total Preventative Maintenance, Condition Monitoring & Planned Preventative Maintenance and the equipment includes but is not limited to:

  • Casting Furnaces,
  • Large Hydraulic Roberts
  • Electronic Robots,
  • Automated systems,
  • Wax Injection Moulding Machines,
  • Compressors,
  • EDM
  • CNC milling machines,
  • Inspection equipment,
  • Lighting and component inspection equipment.

Follow up actions to be performed will include replacement or repair of: electrical & electronic components, switches, proximity and limit switches, and machine safety guards.

Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer requirements:

  • Apprentice trained as a Maintenance Engineer – Electrical bias
  • Qualified machine tool electrician to 17/18th edition
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Heavy manufacturing experience
  • PLC controls experience – diagnose faults, repairs and programming experience
  • Multi-Skilled experience working with Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Willing to work a variety of shifts to service a 24/7 operation. This includes Day Shift and 3 shifts:

The ideal candidate would come from a manufacturing background and be a time served Electrical Maintenance Engineer.
