Our client is the training provider at the Royal School of Military Engineering, based in Chatham Kent. They have an opportunity for an experienced Motor Vehicle / Plant Maintenance Technician with excellent engine knowledge, to move into a teaching role in a professional and disciplined environment where you will find young people eager to learn. You do not need to have formal teaching experience as you will be supported to gain teaching qualifications and training skills.
You should hold a Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle / Plant Maintenance or similar, and have the passion to want to pass your skills on to others.
You will become responsible for instruction and demonstration to trainees of engines and related technology.
Extensive knowledge of petrol and diesel engine systems and operation, including fault finding procedures and techniques.
Experience in equipment electrical systems including CANBUS.
Substantial in-trade experience.
Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle / Plant Maintenance or similar.
Good communication skills.
Must have or be willing to work towards obtaining –
- Level 5 teaching qualification
- TAQA (assessor) qualification
- IQA (invigilator) qualification
Experience in Hydraulic systems.
Knowledge of heavy engines / static generators.
Knowledge of 2 stroke engines including outboard motor.
Knowledge of compressed air systems.
