Electrical and Instrument Technician required for a 2 year fixed term contract.
Recycling Manufacturing company, part of a global group, is looking for an enthusiastic E&I Technician, to work within the Projects Department, supporting the implementation of hardware up-grade for the Process Mills automation systems.
Involved with site automation and control system design, specification and planning, and their integration with the mill IT network. Working with contractors as appropriate for paper machine system hardware.
The role requires working with some supervision and handling multiple projects at the same time.
A good understanding of DCS, PLC’s, industrial IT systems, networking hardware configuration is appropriate.
Electrical and Instrument Technician Person Requirements:
- Work Experience:
Technician in DCS/PLC installation projects in a process driven environment. Installation and Commissioning.
Attention to detail. Logical, methodical approach to planning. Ability to prioritise.
- Conversant with and capable of fault finding wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Identifying/finding solutions outside of the norm that can be implemented to reduce time pressures at critical project phases (Planning and using intuition).
Electrical or Electronics/Automation background.
HNC/HND level or similar.
Supervision by experience.
Computer and systems literate. Systems architecture with regard to process control systems. Competent with Excel, Word, Project and SharePoint, etc.
Strong personal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to act as a site contact for contract labour to control and coordinate as necessary.
Self-motivated, team worker, flexible and adaptable.
