| Quality Manager - Aerospace Job Code: TP1150 Location: Leicester Salary: £40K - 45K + Bonus + Benefits Aerospace manufacturing / machining company requires a Quality Manager based in Leicester. Our client is part of a global group of precision engineering companies. One of their machining facilities requires an experienced Quality Manager, to ensure full compliance is maintained for all quality procedures and requirements of the company, the customers and accreditation bodies, whilst ensuring continued improvements are implemented to enhance the company’s ongoing quality performance and reputation. Experience / Qualifications / skills • A strong engineering background, with proven experience in the quality field is essential • A formal qualification in engineering such as a degree, apprenticeship, work based qualification would be advantageous • Experience and knowledge of aerospace manufacturing is highly advantageous • Knowledge of engineering machining processes would be advantageous • Strong IT (Office and Minitab) and analytical skills are essential • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications is essential • Proven experience of managing and developing a team of employees is essential Key Responsibilities: • Ensure compliance with key accreditation bodies (NADCAP, ISO etc) is maintained Prepare for and conduct both internal and external audits for accreditation • Manage and develop a team of Engineers, ensuring that career plans and review meetings are carried out in line with company guidelines. • Ensure that the company adheres to all customer requirements and specifications, including the completion of internal and customer audits • Manage the reporting and investigation of any customer rejections / escapes, ensuring that all actions are completed in line with customer’s expectations • Liaise with customer contacts on a regular basis to review performance, discuss improvement ideas and general customer requirements. • Ensure quality performance and customer feedback is communicated to the management team and across the workforce • Ensure that all quality targets are communicated through clear KPI’s for all individuals across the business. • Ensure adherence to all company procedure’s and control any procedural update requests • Work closely with the Purchasing Department to improve and continually monitor supply chain quality performance • Supply reports and information on overall quality performance in line with Budget Pack requirements • Adherence to all company policy’s and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety. Key Performance Measures: • Reduction in the level and cost of Scrap across the facility • Improvement in Quality scorecard with each Customer Target for quality escapes = zero • Reduction in internal and external non conformance • Manage the level of parts in the Bond
