| Buyer / Estimator Job Code: TP1149 Location: Hastings Salary: c£Neg + Benefits Electrical Component manufacture based in East Sussex requires a Purchaser / Buyer / Estimator to concentrate of offshore purchasing. To purchase Offshore Factored connectors and components, prepare Offshore quotations to the appropriate quality standards, delivery on time, the lowest cost and ensuring profitability consistent with meeting Customer requirements and inventory policy. To prepare Management performance reports on a monthly basis within set deadlines. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE: Educated to ‘O’ level, GCSE or equivalent. (general standard of education). Membership of CIPS and to be able to communicate in French is desirable although not essential. Will have been employed in a similar position for a minimum of three years and have experience of computer systems within a Purchasing/Materials Planning environment. Experience of operating a computerised enquiry quote and order system. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: 1. To obtain written quotations, either via SAP (for CED product), email for the Offshore from suitably approved suppliers, (supplying only Deutsch product) complete with all additional charges for delivery, test certification, batch charges and minimum order quantities. All quotations to be covered by suitable periods of validity. i.e. 12 months and to be completed within the targets set regarding “Time to Quote”. 2. To work closely with the Sales Co-ordinators and endeavour to ensure that target margins are maintained for Factored product. 3. To be responsible for the preparation and authorisation of purchase orders in line with Company policy on Surplus stocks and their issue to suppliers. To ensure that accurate computer records are maintained and up-to-date. 4. To challenge any price increases, identify solutions that will ensure profitability in line with DUK’s contribution policy. 5. To be participative in the Vendor Management improvement program
