| Production Engineer - Aerospace Machining Manufacturing Job Code: TP1138 Location: Leicester Salary: £28 - 32K Neg + Excellent Benefits Production Engineer required for a Leicester business that carries out a variety of high precision machining and treatment processes for aerospace and power generation components. This is an expanding business with exciting opportunities available for talented, enthusiastic and ambitious Engineers. The Requirement The ideal candidate will be an established Engineer who has extensive experience in the areas of machining Aerospace components and has completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or has achieved a qualification (HNC, degree or equivalent) in production or manufacturing engineering. The ideal candidate should be capable of managing and closing out projects that involve all aspects of production from initial drawing stage DFM activities through to sales and ongoing process improvement. The suitable candidate should be able to read and communicate the information on complex engineering drawings; have a sound grasp of jig and fixture design; be able to interact with both customers and suppliers in a professional manner and be computer and CAD literate. Key Duties ● All aspects of NPI including project management. ● To create and maintain SAP ‘master data’ to include part numbers, routings and cost information. ● To be responsible for complete development of new products including CNC machine / process proving. ● To use lean tools and techniques to remove waste from the manufacturing system. ● To use statistical techniques to achieve high process capability and excellent ‘right first time’ quality. ● To produce detailed, accurate technical work instructions and planning sheets using CAD to support ongoing production / process improvements. ● Manufacturing support on a daily basis. ● Non conformance reduction. ● Technical interface with customers and suppliers Candidates will need a “can do” approach to all work tasks and display a flexible attitude towards their own working practices. An understanding of 5 axis machining to include; creep feed grinding, milling, laser drilling, EDM / ECM processes along with the understanding of complex CMM inspection would be an advantage.
